SUMMARY:GAC-MAC-PEG Conference
DESCRIPTION:MPDA will be hosting several activities at GAC-MAC-PEG 2024 including: \n\n1. Field trip to PADCOM’s Potash mine & Gambler First Nation (May 23rd\, 2024) \nPADCOM (Potash & Agri Development Corporation of Manitoba)\, is the first and so far only Potash mine in Manitoba. It is a shining example of a true Business Partnership with the neighboring Indigenous community Gambler First Nation. The course will discuss a brief history of Gambler First Nation and information on their businesses\, Indigenous Partnership and revenue sharing agreements\, and Polythermic Selective Solution Process at the PACOM mine. \n\n2. Special Session: Emerging trends in Mineral Exploration \nDescription: The availability of minerals and metals catalyzes the development of modern society. There is increased demand for the vast diversity of metals and earth materials that are used for almost all household and industrial applications. This requires innovative modern exploration techniques that facilitate the discovery of recoverable deposits. This session will bring together industry and academics to highlight ongoing efforts to improve mineral exploration.

DESCRIPTION:Manitoba Mineral Week is from May 20 to 24th\, 2024\, with several events across the province. This year we feature Manitoba’s high purity silica sand. \nMineral Week is our opportunity to tell Manitobans about the enormous mineral endowment on our doorstep waiting to be discovered and the opportunity we have to lead the green revolution through our development of critical minerals. MPDA is hosting Lobby Day for Minerals Week on May 21st.
