On September 30, Canada observes the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as Orange Shirt Day. This day honours Survivors, families, and communities impacted by residential schools, and remembers the children who never returned home.
It is also a time to reflect on the āTruthā in Truth and Reconciliation and to check in on Canadaās progress on the 94 Calls to Action from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
At MPDA, we recognize that reconciliation is an ongoing journey. Our engagement with Indigenous communities includes outreach through social media, in-person meetings, presentations to Chiefsā organizations, and accessible training opportunities. These are small but important steps in building stronger relationships based on respect, listening, and shared learning.
