The president of our sister association (MSPDA) Steve Masson, has resigned his director position with the PDAC. A very sad situation for Manitoba as he was a very strong and passionate voice for our province. He will stay on as the MSPDA president. Here are his resignation comments to the PDAC and also see his below document:
“It is with regret that I send this letter because despite my frustration at times ,it was a grand opportunity as a director of the PDAC to try and make a difference even if I ultimately failed. I am truly grateful to the membership and fellow directors; for I have learned a lot and met many devoted and wonderful champions of our industry and many who I admire and regard as friends. Here is my resignation letter. Be careful what you wish for. Thank you for the version of the resignation letter you sent to me, for opening the door to respond to not only the directors but the membership at large, at least it gave me a chance to speak for my side of the story and from my perspective. I fully intend to build a new national organization that will give all explorationist a real voice so that we will become a vibrant industry again. I wish the PDAC good things, certainly to prosper with your great convention to be a connection place where all can tell their story and net work with colleagues, but my real hope would have been that the PDAC would make the voice by a New Association for Prospectors and Juniors in Canada unnecessary. I, however, no longer see that as a probability given what I have experienced and must proceed accordingly.
Regretfully submitted,
Stephen Masson MSc, PGeo.”
