Good morning,

I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas time and that all your family and loved ones are safe. Please may you distribute to all members and encourage them to distribute as well.

A vulnerability impacting Java-based internet facing business applications was announced in early December. The Business Transformation and Technology (BTT), is aware of this vulnerability and is working with staff and our external support partners to mitigate the risk to government information and data. The Canadian Centre for Cyber Security has indicated that the threat is the highest level assigned and active exploitation of vulnerability is underway globally.

The iMaQs system is one of the impacted systems. The update on a resolution has been that the estimated time to the resolution is unknown at this time. Staff at Mining, Oil and Gas – Tenure services are dedicated to continue providing services to our clients. We encourage you to email us at mines_br@gov.mb.ca with the subject specifying iMaQs and we will respond within 24 hours. You may also call and leave a message for us to call you back within 24 hours at 204-945-1119. The system is available internally to staff so we are able to carry out some entries on your behalf.

We thank you for your patience and understanding at this time as we do our best to continue services to you our valued clients.

Thank you
